That is the Flame Belch, Chainsaw, and Glory Kills. The most important skill to learn in Doom Eternal is balancing the three mains sources of life and protection in the game. You can even stun smaller demons close to death to set them up for a Glory kill.
The dash recharges quick, and can be upgraded to recharge even quicker, so use it constantly to save yourself from demons. The dash is essential to use in all aspects of Doom Eternal, whether your are platforming the world or dodging enemy attacks, the dash is incredibly useful. Jump pads, pull up bars, and platforms all offer moment to moment escapes and rest that allow you to assess your surroundings and understand what move to make next, without stopping and leaving you vulnerable to attacks.
Not only will you have your double jump and double dash, most environments will also have several different intractable. Thankfully there are many way stay quick throughout all your encounters. Hopefully it will be available in the base campaign as well, because it honestly sounds like a much-needed addition.In Doom Eternal, anything short of constant movement means absolute death. I can't wait until DLC2 drops and we get to try out that "Racecar HUD" that Hugo keeps banging on about in the streams. I've also taken the opportunity to modify my weapon wheel so that only the Rocket Launcher, Plasma Gun, Ballista and BFG are on it the other weapons are within easy reach of my left hand. I've played many more hours of classic than the new stuff, so that muscle memory is embedded much deeper into my reactions. I also found that mapping the weapon key bindings to somewhat match those of classic Doom resulted in fewer mistakes made when the game pushes me into a blind panic. Pressing the number keys for some of the weapons is now faster. Update: the weapon wheel alone is proving to be too awkward as my skills slowly improve. I've been forcing myself to use the weapon wheel instead.
